Everyone GET DOWN
[suddenly, with no warning what so ever, the lights go out all at once. But it's all right, because LIGHTS!
CAMERA!
ACTION!
-- Wait wait wait, when did someone manage to set up a stage in the middle of Central Station anyway? Oh well, details, who cares because we brought music and rhythm games and likely the racing and fighting and shooting games too because who can say no to score attack? (Not your cup of tea? That's okay, it's what SEGA Bass Fishing is for!)
Did you really expect an arcade to open up and there to not be a major company's mascot character to show up? Exactly how many games do you think exist in this arcade that's published by SEGA anyway? Wanna join in? It's cool, we got your back. Calling all my All-Stars, let's all get up and jam!
But it seems Sonic's not on the stage dancing by himself. There's another kid up here, dressed in a snazzy suit. Must be a new kid considering he's not a familiar face around here. It's all right though, what with the new game machine that SEGA put out last year, Phantom R was making a splash even outside of his own handheld game]
Ready?
It's... SHOWTIME!
[OOC: SO I'll be tagging as both Sonic the Hedgehog and Phantom R from Rhythm Thief because SEGA likes it's arcade games. Not sure what game is being shown? It's MaiMai Plus aka that game that looks like a washing machine, which has been recently gotten the plus version with both 3 songs from Rhythm Thief and 3 songs from the Sonic franchisenot that Sonic needs more reason to be in the arcade because he's already in All-Stars Racing and Sonic the Fighters among others . Likely, both of them will reply (in the same comment or otherwise noted) or, if you just want to speak with one specifically, let me know in the subject!
IF YOU WANT TO JOIN THE DANCING. Let's all be friends as these two glory hogs try to steal the show- Yea, okay I'm done with the terrible puns and references... for now.and they fixed the lights when the show's over too. They're terrible, but they're not mean!]

Osu!
[Though, he hasn't seen this dance before... and soon trips on his own feet. Oh, newbie Ouendan.]

[the two look at each other and grin before elegantly rearranging themselves in a line of three, with Shinta at the end]
Don't sweat it, just feel the rhythm!
[and it's easy, because Showtime has a simple beat to it underneath those fast lyrics]
Just follow our lead!
[It's okay, we'll get you that S-rank yet!]
no subject
And becides, this wasn't a mission. He could take this all relaxed-like!
So then, Shinta looked at the two, and back to the front. It was time... to dance!
Now that he was more relaxed, though, the dance was going a lot better.]

...
That Phantom R was leading the dance so well wasn't surprising (his game was always rhythm based). But Sonic's skills were! ... A bit. Wasn't he supposed to be from a platforming game?]
That's the way! [a quick thumbs up] You've done this before, haven't ya?

speaking of Sega liking arcade games and crossovers
Vocaloids might as well be part timers with the number of Project DIVA games that are out wooooo
I MEAN, IT WASN'T LIKE SEGA KNEW HOW POPULAR THESE THREE WOULD BE AND GOT MIKU TO DANCE A COVER OF THE JAPANESE OPENING OF RHYTHM THIEF OR NOTHING]
Fancy running into you here. [and he also pulls her to the middle of the stage] So how about you lead this next dance?
[go nuts, Miku, these two can keep up
if those MMD mods are any indication oh god YouTube/NicoNico why this, why that, why like this like that?]no subject
That'd be my pleasure, Phantom R-san! Ehe!
[OF COURSE THIS WASN'T PLANNED BY SEGA. That would be too easy of an explanation for why her choreography is perfect despite supposedly not being in on what the next song would be! Or why the other two can also keep up perfectly in step with her
the real answer is MMD is humankind's greatest creation.]no subject
[... No, this wasn't some terrible marketing scheme to get more people to purchase SEGA products. not at all! We are just naturally that good]
Aw right! Thanks to everyone for watching!
[so long as everyone's having fun, right?
who wants an encore or some CR?][The crowds back to milling around though, Sonic and Phantom R both turn to Miku to give their co-worker a quick thank you... Which meant a suave and smooth by from R and a wink and thumbs up from Sonic]
Merci! Definitely one of the best dances we've had yet!
So how are things in your game, Miku? [not said; 'how you liking that cameo outfit?']

work and school are eating up my freetime. tl;dr I'M TOO SLOW
that's cool as long as you don't mind me being slow too +u+
Sonic'll be over there, crying at how slow his co-workers are

and Raphael supposes it's hard not to, when you're the Big Cheese- so it would be fine if he took a break.... Or not.
And he pulls Marie into a spin because he can and why not? Might as well enjoy ourselves since we're here.
it's not like Cheering Marie is a song option on MaiMai Plus or nothing]Fancy running into you here, mademoiselle.
[wow, really?]
Liking the show so far?

Ready to bring it?
[and with a snap of Phantom R's fingers, the music changes]
Think you can follow these moves?
[we'll start small, just in case. ;) ]

Remind Ulala to take you out for space shakes later because what a good student ♪]

DID SOMEONE SAY SEGA PARTY
Beat launches himself over the stage from a conveniently placed stair rail, pulling off a fancy aerial trick and giving a loud whoop. The spray paint flies as he careens past, leaving the stage's backdrop with a fresh, bold stylization of the SEGA logo.
He lands with ease on the far side of the stage, spinning around on his skates to flash a manic grin and a double thumbs-up. Hey, maybe he's not from a rhythm game, but a love for music runs deep in his series too!
Also there's no way he can pass up the opportunity to show off his own dance moves. What IS it with SEGA and major showoffs?]
BEAAAAAAAAT AAAAAAAAAH
[Sonic and Phantom R both jumped (flipped, rolled, tapped the screen wildly?!) to get out of the way of Beat's tagging. Phantom R seemed a bit surprised by the sudden intrusion, but Sonic was grinning wildly. He gives Beat a wink and a thumbs up, because that logo was classy as hell
YEAAA SELF-ADVERTISING]Just the Rudie we needed! Looking good, Beat!
[Because it's not SEGA if there's no sass. Or ham and cheese. PLOT IS OVERRATED]
[Judging from Sonic's reaction, Beat must be someone from the same company, so Phantom R just shrugs and let's it go]
The more the merrier, right?
Now we're going to play a little music...
[a snap of his fingers and- Well. Never doubt the genius of the composers SEGA employs]
Yeah there was basically no way I wasn't tagging this thread with him.
now where's Mario so we can rub it in his face how awesome we are]Party's not started 'til I'm here, am I right?
[Yo Sonic give him a brofist! Phantom R is the adorable newbie though so he just gets Beat's hand shooting out to playfully mess his hat all up as the Rudie slides past. Because yes, Beat is an asshat.]
I would have legitimately cried if no one from JSR showed up here. ;v; eeeeeee

Don't mind Byrd, he's just trying to get a better look at what the heck's going on.]

THE ONLY LATE I CAN BE IS *~*FASHIONABLY*~*
[Whatever monitors in the station aren't broadcasting the necessary travel information have had all their feeds redirected to Space Channel 5's crack team of camera pods!
Though Fuse's ship is nowhere in sight, Ulala's onscreen and more importantly, on the scene!! It's almost too well choreographed how she gets people to clear to the sides as she struts up to the stage in those fab platform boots]
Good evening, space kittens, and welcome to our super special edition broadcast of Ulala's Report Show! Tonight we're bringing you a sweet SEGA groove straight from scenic Game Central Station, in celebration of the newest MaiMai update! Leading the dance...
- Fresh and Funky Newcomer, Phantom R -
I think it's time that I cut in! Staaaaay tuned~! ♥
no subject
[but it really is peculiar how Sonic and Phantom R move to a side, clapping their hands to the rhythm to charm the audience and raise their scores (of course). When Ulala introduces them though, each take their turn to run out to the middle of the stage to show off some tricks and steps of their own]
And if it isn't our number one swinging reporter, Ulala! We were wondering if you were gonna do a cover of this [wink]
I guess it's about time to go galactic!
no subject
Let's get right down to it!
[Ulala's posing is, of course, only timing cue anyone gets because WHAT ARE ONSCREEN PROMPTS?! With an expertly-performed spin, the reporter breaks out her beam guns and takes aim at the stage lights hanging above.]
