First Race [Forum Post]

[Today, a public message has suddenly appeared on the newly repaired ArcadeNet for the entire arcade to see. It seems to be open for anyone to respond to!]

Listen up! I'm issuin' a challenge to everyone in this arcade who thinks they've got what it takes to beat me- Vanellope Von Schweetz- in an all-out, all-or-nothin' race! An' I'm not talkin' foot races neither. If you've got a go-kart, a racecar, a bike or a unicycle, it doesn't matter!

I'm warnin' ya though, I'm not gonna go easy on you! If ya think ya got what it takes, answer me here or- if ya wanna be up front about it- talk to me in my game, Sugar Rush. Ya can't miss it!

Anyway, I look forward to seein' ya on the race track!

[Well, the child wasn't expecting for someone to answer her challenge that quickly, let alone in the same day. She whistles through her teeth and leans back on her heels as she eyes the car that the girl has arrived in.]

Good gumdrops. ....that....sure is somethin'.

[What can she say, Miku's easily excited.

Out of the car steps a girl matching the face on its side. She waves.]

Actually, it's a BMW!

[she takes a moment to take in the setting, finding the candy-coated world very much to her liking. Then she smiles back at the younger girl.]

Vanellope-chan, right? This place is so cool!

Well uh...it's just Vanellope, but yeah!

[As she says this the child ventures a bit closer to the car. In comparison to her own kart, the car is quite big. Needless to say, she's pretty impressed.

She hopes her own kart can keep up, but she DID say people could race in whatever they wanted.]

I gotta hand it to ya, this is a pretty sweet ride.

Ehe, thanks! I'm excited about racing it, I don't get to do that very often. It's not ... technically a part of my game, but I got it along with one of my modules. I get a new module for each Super GT racing season in the world outside.

[In other words, Vanellope has a lot more driving experience than Miku. And with her glitch she could be able to make up the ground that Miku may have in terms of speed. The diva is mostly here for fun, but it should still be a pretty good race.]

[Vanellope nods a little before heading back to her own kart, stepping around it.]

Well, we just racin' for fun then? ...Or didja have some kinda wager ya wanted to do too?

A wager? Hmm...

[she looks at the sugary gokart.]

...Got it! If I win, you get to try some of my vegetable juice!

[that's not a bad thing in Miku's opinion, but she bets it'll get a funny reaction]

Euuch, vegetable juice?

[She's never even HEARD of something like that before.
After a pause though she nods, snickering a bit.]

..Alright, alright....an' if I win...

You gotta try a warhead!

[One of the SOUREST candies in existence. That'll get her a funny reaction of her own.]

[Miku giggles at the reaction to vegetable juice. It's very childish. She expected that.

Warhead though...]

A what? What is that?

[it sounds dangerous!!]

It's a reeeally sour candy. You think you're up to the challenge?

You're on!

[Nodding, she extends a hand for a handshake to seal the deal.

Gotta make it official you know.]

[rhythmiku]

[Accepted! Miku has a firm handshake, very professional-like.]

Alright then, get in that fancy car of yers an' let's get this race on the road!

[Besides, it's not like she isn't FULLY convinced she's going to win.]

Yep! All or nothing, right?

[She heads back toward the car, and as she walks a blue light descends on her as she changes her costume - or module - to a Racing Miku. Each module changes her character a little, and this one should at least give her the driving competence not to go veering off the side of the road (any obstacles nonwithstanding.) Did she mention she doesn't race much? Nevertheless, she doesn't plan on losing. She's decided that Vanellope must come to like her vegetable juice!! So when the signal is given to go, she is off like a shot in her fancy BMW.]

[So, can Vanellope's kart keep up, or will she have to use her many home field advantages?]

[Vanellope's already in her kart by the time the race begins, and putting the pedal to the medal she takes off as well, kicking up sugar dust in the process.

Just because her kart isn't as big and fancy as Miku's BMW, that doesn't mean her own can't get going when it wants to. She's determined to not use her glitch to get ahead unless she absolutely has to, confident her kart will be able to keep up without a problem.

Knowing the terrain as well as she does is a plus though.]
